T-Rex Cafe

Since we were already in KC for Corbin's taekwondo tournament in November we decided to stay for the weekend. After the tournament we took the boys to the T-Rex Cafe. They loved it. The restaurant was really cool and we sat right under a dinosaur, which Max wasn't too sure about at first. After we ate the boys got to make a dinosaur. They really liked doing this!

Corbin spent a lot of time washing his before he got him dressed.
Max getting his all stuffed.

More dinosaur washing.

Here are the finished products.

Taekwondo Tournament in KC

We traveled to KC in November for a taekwondo tournament for Corbin. This was his first tournament since joining the leadership class and he was really excited. Even though he is only a camo belt he did the red belt form for the tournament which has over 40 moves. He worked very hard to memorize it. Even though he didn't place in the form competition, he still did a great job!

His weapons form, nunchucks, he got 2nd place in the weapons division!!

Sparring, he wasn't very aggressive and some of the other kids were VERY aggressive so he got out in the first round but he learned a lot!

Here are all the kids and judges from his ring after they gave out medals.

Here are his two medals, the red is second place in weapons and the green is for good effort in forms. We had the back of them engraved for him. They are big and really heavy. He took them to school and showed them off.

Happy (Late) Halloween

Here are my boys, dressed and ready to get some candy! Max was a dinosaur (he kept calling himself Rex from Toy Story) and Corbin was the bad guy from Scream, his mask even had fake blood in it. Which I have to admit, this mom wasn't real thrilled about but it was what he really wanted. The mask didn't last long though, he took it off after about 4 houses. We went trick or treating in Republic and Clever and the boys got more candy than they will ever be able to eat!
Before we went out we had mummy dogs and candy corn pizza for dinner, yummy!

Check out all the candy! Max was happy because he found a sucker which is his favorite!

For dessert, we had worm cake.

What a great night to be a kid!

Happy Fall (I know, a little late)

We took the boys to Nathaniel Greene Park on a Sunday afternoon in the hopes of getting some good fall pictures. As you can see things didn't quite so like we had planned. This was actually one of the last pictures and Max was more than done at this point. And Corbin was loving that Max was being a stinker, it gave him such joy as you can tell by the look on his face. Oh the joy of having 2 boys.
This is my favorite picture of Max!

I also really like this one of the boys, even though you can't see thier faces. I think it captures the true spirit of 2 little boys.

Corbin was eager to pose for lots of pictures. He is taking it very seriously here.

Jason Aldean

Corbin is a big fan of the country singer, Jason Aldean. We found out he was coming to town and Corbin asked right away if we could go. So, my friend Kelli got tickets for us to go with her and her son, Kourt. I told Corbin we didn't get tickets though. I wanted to surprise him. There were so many times that I almost gave in and told him. He asked about it a lot. The week of the concert they were giving away tickets on the radio and he was always getting me to call in and try to win. So, the morning of the show I gave him a Jason Aldean t-shirt along with the tickets. He was excited! The concert was great! Corbin was dancing and singing along with almost every song. What a fun night!

Corbin and Kourt, double trouble! Corbin has his school carnival that night and had played a game where he got his hair spray painted red. He looked like a real rocker!

Starbucks morning

This morning the weather was slightly chilly out. It felt great! I am so ready for fall and this just gets me more excited. One of my favorite things to do on a cool morning is swing by Starbucks for a caramel macchiato. Once we were ready for school this morning there was enough time for Corbin and I to stop in and grab a warm drink. So I treated Corbin to a hot chocolate. He loves getting drinks from Starbucks and felt really important to have his own drink, especially when the girls working there put his name on his cup and put lots of chocolate syrup on top of his whipped cream in his drink. What a nice way to start the day. And of course I was able to get my non-fat decaf caramel macchiato. It was a perfect start to my day and I look forward to more days like this as the weather continues to cool off!

Introducing our new First Grader!

Today was Corbin's first day of 1st grade. He wasn't really sure about starting school until he got his letter in the mail from his teacher last week. Once that arrived he was ready to go! He woke up at 6:00 this morning before his alarm even went off. That was mainly because he was checking to see what the tooth fairy brought him. He was VERY excited about his $10. Ryan went into work late today and brought Corbin to school. I was able to come over and get a few pictures of him when he got there.

Here he is with his teacher, Mrs. Quintanilla. She is one of my best friends so I know he is going to have a great year!

Sitting at his desk ready to get started.

This is his girlfriend/fiance Addy. They went to the same baby-sitter in preschool and it has been a match made in heaven for 3 years now. This will be the 2nd year in a row they have been in the same class.

We went to eat at Zio's for dinner tonight. Corbin loves going there so he can dip the bread in the oil and seasonings.

He got cake for dessert. Check out the size of that piece of cake! What a way to celebrate the first day of school!
