Corbin turns 6!

Corbin had a great birthday party this year. He has 3 of his friends over for water play and a movie. The water play turned in to just playing with water guns and the boys loved it. They also ate pizza, watermelon, ice cream and cake. Then they played with Legos and watched a movie. The next morning they had pancakes for breakfast. It was a fun night!

Go Bluejays!

A few weeks ago the boys basketball team at Clever made it to the final four state championship. Their first game was on a Thursday afternoon so school was cancelled so that students and faculty could attend. We had been to the sectional championship game the week before and Corbin loved it so he immediately asked if we could go to the game in Columbia. We rode to the game with our friends, the Pellham's. The drive was a little wild because Corbin got car sick and threw up all over their car. Oops! But we made it there and then the real fun began. Corbin wanted to paint his face and spray his hair blue and white. He had a lot of team spirit. He ended up not really watching much of the game because he was more into his DS but he enjoyed just being there. It was a fun day and hopefully a lasting memory was made for him!

Corbin and I at the game--go Bluejays!

All the kids getting ready to head into the game, notice the car was even sporting some school spirit!

Taekwondo

Corbin has been taking taekwondo since August and LOVES it! He is in the Tiny Tigers class for 4-6 year olds and he has improved so much since he started. For the past few months he has moved up to the Tiny Tigers BBC class where he gets to do sparring, use weapons and break boards. He has passed 3 rank promotion tests and is currently a white and yellow belt. Here are some pictures of him showing off his skills.

I guess I'm not a good blogger!

I got off to a great start with my blog almost 2 years ago but as you can see I am slacking, big time! I am really going to try to do better now.

Last weekend we took the boys on a surprise getaway. Ryan had been working a lot of hours finishing things up at Heavy Duty so he could make the move to Logistics so we decided we needed some family fun time. We told the boys we were running errands Saturday afternoon. Corbin was not excited at all! Max didn't care or even know the difference, though. He fell asleep just about as soon as we got in the truck.

Our getaway was taking the boys to Splash Country in Branson to stay the night. Corbin also fell asleep on the way there but once he woke up and realized where we were he was pretty excited. Here is a picture of his reaction.

As you can see he was pretty excited. He LOVES staying in a hotel! The boys had a great time swimming. After we swam for a while we ate dinner and then played mini golf.

Corbin was actually pretty good and of course mommy was the best golfer! Max even played a few holes.

After mini golf Corbin won some big bouncy balls for him and Max out of a machine. He was so sweet because as soon as he won one for himself he wanted to get one for Max too before we even had a chance to suggest it to him. He is a pretty good big brother! Then we went to get ice cream and called it a night.

Sunday we had breakfast at Panera (Corbin's pick) and then did some shopping at Tanger and headed home. It was a nice little trip and it was so much fun to surprise the boys! I can't wait to do it again.

14 pounds!!

Max has his 2 month dr. appt. today and I was SHOCKED when they weighed him. He was 14 lb. and 1/2 oz. HOLY COW!! I guess he is getting plenty to eat. He is 23 3/4 inches long. He is growing fast! He had to get his first round of shots today. He screamed and was not impressed at all. After we left the doctor we went to meet Deana, Brandon, Connor and Corbin at Jump Mania. Corbin had spent the night with them to celebrate his pooping success. The boys had a blast playing together. We left there and went to McDonald's for lunch. Corbin fell asleep on the way home and slept for 2 hours. He was worn out! But it was a fun day for sure!!

It's a surprise...not really!

We tried to have a surprise party today to celebrate Ryan's graduation but he knew about it. He said that he suspected something was up and then he ate lunch right by where the party was and watched everyone drive by on their way to the party. Oh well! It was still a lot of fun. There were about 30 people there. We played a game to see who knew Ryan the best and ate fruit and cake. After the party we went to Ed & Barb's house for dinner. Jennifer's grandparents came in town for the party so we wanted to spend some time with them. Great grandma had a great time taking care of Max. She didn't even care that he peed on her and was kind of fussy at times. You can tell she has 6 kids!

A great accomplishment

Today was a special day for our family. Ryan graduated from SBU with his Masters Degree in Business Adminstration. What a accomplishment this is. Jennifer, Corbin and Max surprised Ryan and took him to lunch. Then we had to shop for last minute things for his surprise party on Saturday. We all went to graduation that night along with Sam, Jana, Marc, Deana, Connor, Ed, Barb, Megan, Kaedyn and Kylie. After graduation we went to our favorite restaurant, El Rodeo. It was yummy, as always!
